Delete your account in the app

1. Open LaoLingo and select the Profile tab.
2. Sign in to the Google account whose LaoLingo data you want to delete.
3. Under Legal, select Delete account.
4. Review the warning and confirm deletion.

What is deleted

When account deletion succeeds, your LaoLingo profile, synced learning progress, check-ins, learning favorites, cloud-synced translation history, and account-linked subscription and entitlement records are removed from LaoLingo's active server database. App settings and translation-history favorite status are kept on the device and are not part of cloud sync. Local copies can be removed by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app; uninstalling alone does not remove synced server copies. Account deletion does not mean immediate erasure of every backup or records managed by Google or other third-party services.

Subscriptions

Deleting your LaoLingo account does not cancel an active Google Play subscription. Cancel it separately in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.

Delete specific data without deleting your account

Signing in automatically syncs learning progress, check-ins, and learning favorites. In version 126 and later versions with an explicit history-sync choice, translation history stays local until you allow its sync; allowing it includes existing and new history with original text, translated results, and language selections. Earlier released versions, including version 125, may have automatically synced history for signed-in users.

You can withdraw history-sync permission in the Profile sync controls. This stops subsequent history sync from that device; it does not delete copies already stored on the server or change sync choices on other devices. Older versions may continue their earlier automatic history-sync behavior. To remove existing copies from active synced storage without allowing further history uploads, delete your account or submit a data-deletion request.

You can delete individual translation-history entries and remove saved learning favorites directly in the app. History deletion is reflected in synced copies on other devices only after a successful history sync, with permission enabled where that choice is available. Deleted-history records can retain their original text, translated result, language selections, and timestamps in local and server deletion records used for synchronization; removing an entry from visible history is not immediate physical erasure of all stored copies. To request removal of a specific category from active synced storage without deleting your account, email lchenyu347@gmail.com from the Google account used with LaoLingo and identify the data you want removed.
